Minutes of the 5th meeting of the Executive Committee tenure 2019-2021 of BCCCI held at BCCCI office on 6th October 2019 (Sunday) at 4pm

II. PROCEEDINGS

The hon’ble President of BCCCI, MR. Gazi Golam Murtoza presided over the meeting. Being satisfied with the quorum, the President started the proceeding of the meeting at 4:00 p.m. thanking everybody for coming on time.
Then, the agenda of the meeting were taken into account one by one.

Agenda-1: Matter arising from the previous EC meeting.

Hon’ble Joint Secretary General Mr. Al Mamun Mridha presented the resolution of last EC meeting on behalf of the Chamber and the house had passed the resolution unanimously.

Agenda-2: To discuss about the utility charges of BCCCI’s office.
Mr. Gazi Golam Murtoza hon’ble president of BCCCI mentioned that the BCCCI should bare the utility expense of BCCCI office. Hon’ble Senior Vice President Brig.Gen. Shah Md. Sultan Uddin Iqbal, BP, ndu,psc,PhD (Retd) has made a request to the hon’ble president to consider the issue until we relocate BCCCI office to its own premises. Hon’ble president proposed to contribute taka one lac each month as president’s contribution to the Chamber. The board highly appreciated the proposal and decided to talk about purchasing BCCCI’s own premises in detail on the next EC meeting.
A Subcommittee was formed with the following hon’ble executive members of BCCCI for relocating BCCCI’s own office premises:
a) Md. Shahjahan Mridha Secretary General
b) Mr. Badrul Alam Khan Vice President
c) Md. Shahid Alam Vice President
d) Mr. Al Mamun Mridha Joint Secretary General
e) Ms. Meherun Nessa Islam Director

Agenda-3: To discuss about the BCCCI delegation will meet with the Mr. Md. Sirazul Islam, hon’ble Executive Chairman, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) on 9th October 2019, 10:30am at BIDA office.

BCCCI delegation will meet newly appointed hon’ble executive chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) on 9th October 2019, 10:30am at BIDA office. After detail discussion the house had decided BCCCI’s delegation will meet with the BIDA’s chairman to discuss about some specifics agendas mentioned bellow:
 One stop service for Chinese Investors.
 We provide Support for (legal, accents, everything).
 Joint Roadshow in China about promoting Bangladesh.
 Promote BCCCI to Chinese investors (as embassy is always promoting Chinese Chamber).
 Authorizing BCCCI formally to promote Bangladesh trade & Investment in China.
 Invite on BCCCI’s upcoming seminar title would be RMB Account” or Ease of doing business in Bangladesh.

Agenda-4: To discuss about the upcoming seminar organized by BCCCI.

Honorable Joint Secretary Al Mamun Mridha discussed about the seminar on next month. The title of the seminar would be either ‘RMB Account” or “Ease of doing business in Bangladesh”. After detail discussion the house had decided we will organize a seminar on the next month.

Agenda-5: To discuss about the BCCCI delegation attend “The Belt and Road Global Chambers of Commerce and Associations Conference” on November 22-23, 2019 in Beijing, China organized by Global Times Online.

Honorable Joint secretary General of BCCCI Mr. Al Mamun Mridha had a brief discussion about upcoming The Belt and Road Global Chambers of Commerce and Associations Conference on November 22-23, 2019 in Beijing, China organized by Global Times Online. After a discussion the house decided BCCCI’s delegation will participate in the said event.

Agenda-6: To appoint a script writer for BCCCI’s office.

The house had a discussion that we need a copy writer of BCCCI’s office for full time or part time basis. The board members mentioned that we should increase BCCCI’s correspondence with more national & international Chambers & Governments for that we need a copy writer with similar kind of writing experience with full/part time appointment.

Miscellaneous:
I. Hon’ble Joint Secretary General of BCCCI Mr. Al Mamun Mridha mentioned about a two members delegation visited to Chinese embassy in Bangladesh. The delegation was led by Mr. Gazi Golam Murtoza Murtoza hon’ble President, BCCCI & Mr. Al Mamun Mridha Hon’ble Joint Secretary General, BCCCI. The delegation had a very prosperous discussion about different bilateral issues with hon’ble political counselor & Head of Chamber Mr. Gazi Golam Murtoza Murtoza. Among that matter they had a discussion about issuing the Chinese visa for BCCCI members on BCCCI’s Note Verbal. BCCCI will submit a members list to Chinese embassy in Dhaka for their information.

II. There was a discussion about a curtsy visit to the Mr. Mahbub Uz Zaman, hon’ble ambassador of Bangladesh to China. After discussion Brig.Gen. Shah Md. Sultan Uddin Iqbal, BP, ndu,psc,PhD (Retd) hon’ble senior vice president of BCCCI was fixed the appointment schedule with ambassador of Bangladesh to China on 9th October 2019.

III. The house had discussed about the advertisement published on the daily newspaper, Independent on 1st October 2019 for celebrating 70th founding Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. The budget for the advertisement BDT 57500 (including vat) was approved the house unanimously.

IV. The house had a brief discussed about organize a business/research paper hunting program on Bangladesh China business scenario, prospect, opportunities & challenges. The house will discuss about the matter in detail on next EC meeting.

V. The house had appointed Md. Rubal a peon/cleaner for BCCCI office. The salary of the peon/cleaner was fixed BDT 9,000 (Nine Thousand Only).
